Beginning
on Ash Wednesday, and several times each week of Lent, you will find posts presented on the home page. The stories you write will be determined by you, with guidance from me regarding their subject of focus.
At
the beginning of the week, set up the scene of time, place and characters of
the “story” with which you will be working (and praying). Each week a new story will begin about
places, people, activities, thoughts, questions and answers.
In
the middle of the week, seek and find the scripture or hymn verses that seem to
blend well with your story. I will offer suggestions, but undoubtedly many others will come mind, depending upon your history. These verses
may provide a complement or a contrast to your story. They may offer a way to see your experience
as it relates to the story of a biblical character. Or the verses may be a prayerful expression of
the way you felt (or still feel) about the story line you are developing.
Towards
the end of the week, you will be encouraged to pray with the question of “what
does this mean?” You will want to respond
to the following questions with regard to your story:
What did God reveal to me about God?
What did God reveal to me about me
and about
others?
How did what I learn affect my life, including
the way I
think and pray about myself, God and others?
You
will want to find a way to record your stories, prayers and thoughts.
Please
feel free to contact me by phone (440-526-2303) or e-mail, (pczarnota@crlcbrecksville.org) or
set up an appointment for conversations.
May
your Lenten Journey and your story-telling be blessed!
